OSCAR GIUNTA Double Bass
He was born on June 1953 in Mendoza, Argentina. Double bass player and classical pianist.
He studied in the department of Arts in The University of Cuyo (U.N.C.).
He worked as soloist and supplant soloist in the Symphony group of the City of Mendoza and in the Symphony Orchestra of the National University of Cuyo, participating of some concerts inside and outside Mendoza.
At the same time he was member of several jazz groups with whom he recorded a longplay (America, with the trumpet player Horacio Rosas) and toured inside and outside Argentina. He was the arranger, pianist and Double bass player of some jazz bands and also its Conductor.
Since 1980 he is a member of the National Symphony Orchestra and since 1984, from the Chamber Orchestra of la Municipalidad de la Plata, playing music with these and other Orchestras of the moment.
In Buenos Aires played with different jazz bands, on 1981 was part of The “Mardel Jazz” with Horacio Rosas´s Group and on 1983 with Francisco Rivero. He also was the pianist of Marito Cosentino´s Orchestra and was the conductor and arranger of his own group “Brazil Ensemble”.
From 1990 until 1994 was part of Pablo Ziegler´s Quartet.

From then he is part of the New Royal Quintet “Nuevo Quinteto Real” with Horacio Salgán, Nestor Marconi, etc.
